| Stained Concrete
Acid Stain is not a coating or paint, it’s a coloring process involving a chemical reaction that can be applied to any cementitous surfaces such as walks, patios, entrances, driveways, bathrooms, living rooms, high traffic areas and even vertically. It is a solution made with water, acid and inorganic salts reacts with minerals already present in the concrete, the result of this reaction is a beautiful color. It works well on new and many old concrete areas. Acid Stain is very durable if properly sealed or waxed to protect the stain and add shine and depth. It can be applied to both interior and exterior surfaces. Exteriors need to be sealed more often, especially a high traffic area. Acid Stain gives concrete a variegated, marble like look. It makes concrete so much more attractive and gives you the ability to add your own style. There are many beautiful colors to choose from in acid staining, mostly tones of brown, reddish browns, black and greens. Some of the most used colors are Harvest Wheat, Walnut and Vintage Umber. You can also create your own shades by mixing available colors or applying different amounts to create darker and lighter areas. Acid Stain will not be uniform or have an even tone on the entire area, you’ll get different reactions from slab to slab, and even on the same job you may see varied coloration. You can create a simple design to a very sophisticated work of art. What ever style and color you choose you can expect the end results to be absolutely stunning! |
